Office Location: Irvine, CA

Position Summary

The Senior Loan Administrator is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of unsecured, secured, and government-guaranteed business loans. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and compliant loan closings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with underwriters, relationship managers, and executive management to facilitate loan processing.
  • Review loan files and compile closing requirements; communicate status and needs clearly and professionally.
  • Submit loan packages to the SBA for loan number issuance and coordinate with SBFC Partners for state-guaranteed loan requests.
  • Initiate title orders and review preliminary title reports; ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Evaluate and accept entity documentation including articles of incorporation, bylaws, partnership agreements, and LLC operating agreements.
  • Review UCC searches and ensure proper documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with SBA SOPs and internal credit policies.
  • Verify borrower cash injection per SBA and bank guidelines.
  • Determine insurance requirements and obtain necessary hazard and flood insurance.
  • Review escrow instructions and estimated closing statements.
  • Prepare and request loan documentation; ensure alignment with SBA/state approvals and bank conditions.
  • Coordinate loan closings with borrowers, title/escrow agents, and relationship managers.
  • Review executed closing documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare loan files for pre-funding review and create accurate boarding packages.
  • Maintain compliance with loan documentation laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Monitor and direct monetary disbursements; participate in post-closing quality control.
  • Identify and proactively resolve issues in the loan closing process.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reports and ensure timely updates.
  • Adhere to operational policies and compliance regulations including BSA, AML, Patriot Act, and OFAC.
  • Promote a respectful, harassment-free work environment in line with EEO/AA policies.
  • Report unsafe conditions and contribute to the bank’s cybersecurity efforts through vigilance and awareness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of loan closing documentation and procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills with effective phone and email communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SBA or other government-guaranteed loan programs.
  • Familiarity with LaserPro or similar commercial loan documentation software.
  • Demonstrated experience with SBA documentation.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong technical skills and comfort with production-driven environments.
